How To Make Botanical Jewelry And Bookmarks With Pressed Flowers And Resin

I had dried some pretty purple flowers and when i casted them in the clear resin they turned green, a few kept the purple but most turned green. I am bummed because i spent so much time drying them. What am i doing wrong, As if I don't already have dozens of uncompleted craft projects now! Thanks so much for visiting Alise!
There are so many things you can preserve and showcase with this method. Thanks so much for visiting! Thanks so much Daughter of Maat. My daughter loves these too. I hope you will share photos. When I was a kid, I had a small rose pendant of this type. Now I want to see if I still have it! Glad to know that I could make my own. What a lovely idea and hub!
This is a fantastic hub. I love the purple flower pendant! This has given me the perfect idea for a my daughter's birthday present next year. We have little purple flowers in our backyard that will be perfect. AWESOME. Voted up and shared! Thanks so much twig22bend. I appreciate your visit.
This is a lovely craft. Thanks so much for your kind comment Aplethora23. Resin stays sticky for about 24 hours, especially in a bezel. It can drive you nuts because if you touch it, it leaves fingerprints. If you mix it outdoors on a humid day, it can get very sticky. I swear by Easy Cast. Amazing and very talented! I have tried to use resin before, and it always ends up sticky. I am not too sure what went wrong.
Maybe it is the brand of resin that I use, because I follow measurement directions to the "T" and I still have the same issue. I was brushing a thin coat of Mod Podge over it, and that seemed to help a bit. Thank you for posting this. It looks like so much fun! Thanks so much Kevin Peter! I appreciate your kind comment and your visit.

Thanks so much Full of Love! I appreciate your visit. Unique jewelry is a must these days and making your own is such a great idea. I love your hubs! From seeing and reading some of your hubs, motivates me to want to try and start my own collection of jewelry. I love your ideas that you presented especially with the bookmark! Voted up, useful, beautiful and shared. Thanks so much for your wonderful visit Green Art! Thanks for reading Silver Poet.
This jewelry takes a little practice, but it is easy and fun. Hope you will give it a try! Beautiful photographs of this remarkable jewelry! What a fun project that can last from years to come. Voted up and useful! I have always loved this kind of jewelry. Fascinating to read how it is made, and I had no idea one could make it at home! Are the flowers you are using completely dried out,
They need to be dry to the point where they become brittle. If your flowers are dry and discoloring, you can try to seal them before use. You can use a glue like Mod Podge but applying glue may make the petals tear. If it isn't completley dry, it will have a bad reaction with the resin.
