Send Apple feedback so they know we want continuous video play on our tv app.

The Video App did it just fine.

TV App, There's a workaround for home videos to work on this app. In iTunes getinfo => change from home video to movie. Apple should make the Videos app available until it is fixed. Prior to IOS 10.2 I could search for my home videos (MP4)by name via Spotlight Search app. The Video App was replaced by the TV App which has no means of searching the video library. 1. Allow us to download the original Video App that was just replaced, assuming this returns the spotlight search the capability to search for home video MP4 files.

2. Add Home Movies, Movies, Videos (MP4) to the categories in Spotlight Search.

Movie file format: Only MP4, M4V and MOV!

"How to Download Video to iPhone without iTunes

Catherine Tells How She Transfer Her Videos from Computer to iPhone without iTunes

Catherine Watt, customer of M2mate, shares her experience on downloading video to iPhone with 2 easy methods beyond iTunes.

I am glad to be here to say something about copying video to iPhone or iPad. The thing I don't like most is the way to download video to iPhone through iTunes. That's why I have to try and find some other solutions to download videos from my PC to iPhone without iTunes.

Friends who know me should know I have plenty of videos stored on my computer, such as the videos captured by camera, video clips sent from friends. I have to look for alternative methods to transfer videos to iPhone from my computer.

The good news is, I tried and found many other practicable solutions to download videos to iPhone without iTunes. Requirement: Dropbox, WI-FI, iPhone/iPad/iPod, Computer

Have you ever used Google Drive, Dropbox or other cloud storage service to download videos to iPhone, Step 1. Download and install Dropbox app on both iPhone/iPad and computer

It is a necessity to have Dropbox app installed on iPhone or iPad when using Dropbox to transfer videos to iPhone or iPad. You can easily find the app in iTunes app store. Step 2. Copy and paste the movie file into your Dropbox folder on your computer

Launch Dropbox on your computer, sign in your account, then simply copy and paste the movie files or videos into your Dropbox folder on your computer.

Step 3. Access the videos in the Dropbox app on your iPhone or iPad

Open the Dropbox app on your iPhone or iPad, click to sync the video files. After it is synced, you'll be able to access the video in Dropbox app on your iPhone or on your iPad.

Step 4. Optional: Save the video from Dropbox app to iPhone or iPad

If you want to export the movie to your iPad or iPhone and watch it in the videos app on your iPhone/iPad, you'll need to tap on the Share icon in the upper-right corner and then tap on Save Video.

Requirement: iPhone/iPad/iPod, a computer to plug the device into, iPhone/iPod/iPad file transfer tool

I can only tell you this iPhone file transfer tool works and it does the video transferring from PC to iPhone job smoothly. Step 1. Install iPhone transfer tool on your Mac or Windows based computer

Step 2. Plug your iPhone or iPad to computer

Step 3. Select the video files from computer

Browse the video files from your computer that you want to put on iPhone, then click Open to add them to the iDevice. The videos would be displayed on the main panel.

As I explained before, I have videos in AVI, FLV formats that can't be supported by iPhone/iPad/iPod. M2mate iPhone transfer tool recognizes the incompatible videos I add and helps to convert them to iPhone/iPad/iPod friendly formats.

Note: A window would pop up when an incompatible video is added, asking you to convert the video or not. Step 4. The videos are downloaded to iPhone

By following the steps above, you already have the videos downloaded from PC to iPhone. Unplug the iPhone, and you would find the transferred video from computer.

Besides downloading video to iPhone, this iPhone transfer program also allows to download photos, music, auidobook, messages, playlist from computer to iPhone or iPad, iPod touch. If you'd like to transfer the files from iPhone to PC, it works like a charm. (Read: how to transfer photos from iPhone to computer )

Conclusion: using or not using iTunes to import video to iPhone is not a question.

iTunes isn't terrible by any means, if the videos you mainly have are MP4 format based, using iTunes to transfer the videos to iPhone is a good way. Hate iTunes and want to download videos from computer to iPhone without iTunes, You can simply choose the way you prefer to move videos from your computer to iPhone or iPad, iPod without iTunes at ease.

Delete messages or photos in iPhone by mistake, You can add video clips to your movie project from your iPhone's built-in storage, from your iCloud Photo Library, or from iCloud Drive, and you can always take new videos right away if you want. Step 1: Select Where You Want to Add the Video

Step 2: Select a New Video to Import

Method 1: From the Photos App

Looking for a video that's stored on your iPhone or in your iCloud Photo Library, Then select either ""Moments,"" ""Videos,"" or ""Albums"" from the Media browser. I recommend selecting ""Videos"" or an all-videos album since they will give you more detailed options for importing when you finally find the video you want to use.

To preview in a folder with both photos and video, just tap and hold on the video thumbnail. In an all-video album, tap on the video and hit the play button. If you see a cloud icon in the top right of the video thumbnail, when you preview it, the quality might seem reduced since the video is not actually downloaded onto your iPhone. In iMovie, you can import videos into your movie project right from the iCloud Drive or Files app (depending on which iOS version you're running).

If you have iOS 11 installed and see the Files app appear after selecting ""iCloud Drive,"" you can find videos in other connected cloud services, such as Google Drive or Box. Method 3: Take a New Video

You can preview the video afterward, and if it's all good, choose ""Use Video"" to save the video to your Photos app and import into your timeline. Step 3: Trim the Video (Optional)

Step 4: Import the Video into Your Timeline

If you chose to use the ""Camera"" option to record a new video, you likely already added the video to your timeline. All you had to do was tap on ""Use Video."" If you chose a video from your iCloud Drive or Files app, then just tap on the video to import it into the timeline.

For videos residing in your Photos app, tap on the video to bring up the import menu. If it's a video from iCloud Photo Library (with the cloud icon), then it will download to your device first, then automatically import into the project.

I've tried converting it to Quicktime with iTunes and adding it to the iPhone that way, but I can't see the video in the Photos on the iPhone.

I've even tried opening the mail attachment video in a video editor on my iphone, ""videoshop,"" which supposedly saves the video to my Camera roll, but again, I can't see the video in Photos, so I can't upload the video.

Video playlists and traditional iPods

iTunes allows you to create video playlists. These playlists can contain each variety of video acceptable to iTunesTV shows, music videos, and movies.

When you sync one of these playlists to a clickwheel iPod capable of playing video, that playlist will appear when you navigate to Videos -> Video Playlists. Here you'll see the title of the playlist as well as the number of videos it containsMy Video Playlist, 3 Videos, for example. The second version appears here: Videos -> Video Playlists -> name of playlist. This playlist contains the original playlist's videos.

Video playlists and the iPhone and iPod touch

The iPhone and iPod touch generally don't respect video playlists. For example, if you create a video playlist that contains four of your favorite movies, those movies will be synced to your iPhone or iPod touch, but they'll be listed separately under the Videos heading in the iPod app (iPhone) or Videos app (iPod touch).
