How To Make A Paper Airplane That Flies Far - Page 3 Of 4
Fold the top left corner in a similar fashion and you will obtain a peak. Take the right slant edge of the peak, fold it toward you and align it with the center line or crease. Fold the left slant edge in the same manner. Fold the new peak toward you to touch the bottom edge of the paper. Fold the paper in half along the center crease, but away from you. The folded plane will have two top corners. One will contain the fold, while the other one will be free. Fold the free corner toward you. The point of fold must be an inch away from the corner and the edge after the fold must be parallel to the center fold. Do the same on the other side and unfold the paper. You will see that these two folds overlap the base of the peak.
You will fold the peak that was aligned to the bottom edge away from you, toward the top. However, since the folds in the previous step overlap the peak, make the fold at the points where they last touch the peak. Again, fold the plane in half-along the center crease. Fold the wings of the plane toward you. At the tip of the plane, keep a gap of ½ inch and then start folding the wing. Compared to the center fold, the line from the fold of the wings must be slightly tilted near the tip and away at the end. Fold the wing on both sides symmetrically. Compared to the center fold, the line from the fold of the wings must be slightly tilted near the tip and away at the end. Fold the wing on both sides symmetrically.
From the edge of the wing fold, take ½ inch of distance and fold the wingtip in the direction opposite to that of the wing fold. The line of fold of the tip must be parallel to the line of fold of the wing. Fold the other tip as well. Unfold the wings (if it is easy for you) and look beneath them. Starting 2½ inches from the end along the center fold, fold the corner only ½ or 1 inch high. Fold it properly on either side to make a proper V-shaped crease. Now, unfold the paper and flip it so you are looking at the top of the wings. You can see the V-shaped crease in the middle. From beneath the wings, lift that crease to form a fin or tail.
